AutoCarto 2008, the seventeenth international research symposium on computer-based cartography, held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, USA, was an unqualified success. A photo archive is being developed of all the workshops and ICA Commission meetings that took place during the symposium. Photos are being added as they become available.

Cartographers, geographers, geospatial analysts, GIScientists, and others conducting research on the cutting edge of the geospatial sciences have submitted paper and posters on a variety of topics, as well as websites demonstrating an innovative cartographic application or method. Paper presentations will be on September 8-10. Workshops will be given on September 10th and 11th. ICA commissions meetings are scheduled for September 11th. There will also be an announcement of the CaGIS Distinguished Career and other awards presented by CaGIS during 2008.
